The thing about Atom — and I think Visual Studio Code — for me is that the Electron back end is, unfortunately, aptly named: it uses insane amounts of battery power as well as CPU, memory, etc., just like Chrome does. I have a ridiculously expensive Macbook, and I damn well want to get the advertised battery life out of it — and am finding that really the only way to do that is to switch from Chrome to Safari and to switch from Atom to Sublime.

(Plus: writing extensions in python vs writing extensions in javascript, that’s a no-brainer)
